Aaliyah Dana Haughton and Aarti Mann

The debut album of Aaliyah Age Ain't Nothing but a Number came out in 1994. Aaliyah Dana Haughton was just fifteen when her debut album was released as Gold. The album was part of a group that was greatly inspired by R. Kelly and it placed her in the limelight. In the year 1996, Jermaine Durpri along with Timbaland joined forces to record her sophomore album One In A Million. It featured the track the song If Your Boyfriend only Knew as the number one. Aaliyah gained international recognition as a R&B artist with the release of her sophomore album One in a Million. Aaliyah was a part of the famous martial artist Jet-Li Romeo Must Die (2000), an action and romantic film. Joel Silver, the film producer, saw her during an awards show and suggested the role. In 2002 she had the opportunity to appear in the film vampire Queen of the Damned which was based on Anne Rice's Anne Rice novel. The Matrix Sequels was her first role in The Matrix Sequels. She had also appeared as a character in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2007). She was awarded four Grammy nominations from 1999 to 2003. Aarti Mann is from Indian heritage and was born Connecticut. Mann is the abbreviation used for her first name in marriage, Mankad. Aarti Magnumdar, her formal name, but she is also known as Aarti Magumdar for her stage name. Her acting career started in the the mid 2000's, with a few appearances on television and in films. Some of her other notable work are Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. She's also appeared in major commercials for brands like Volvo which is an international automobile producer. She lives within Los Angeles with her husband and daughter. She will continue to pursue an acting career.
