Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music, and R&B. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway and in the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine was born Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta now, Sunshine is born in Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she began her career as a musician by singing and playing at the church in town. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta at Spellman College. The very first track to showcase her voice was called Stalk You which was a song from Japan's house 12 track. Since then, it was remixed and has become a element of her repertoire. Additionally, she was a part of The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in his stage play Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention during four daily shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at the Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
