Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother, were both authors and editors. Ryder's dad was born into the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. She is also half-sister to Sunyata Jubal. Her younger sister is Uria. Ryder's family moved from Mendocino County to California when she was seven years old. They didn't have electricity. Ryder was a consummate bookworm and would spend her days reading books as there was no television. Ryder started to take acting classes at American Conservatory Theatre when she reached the age of 12. In the year she turned fifteen, she landed her first acting job on the screen in Lucas. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her teenage years. Ryder hoped the acting profession would change that. However, it didn't come to pass. However, she was determined to pursue her goals. Her biggest break was in 1988 when she appeared in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder played roles that were successful in various films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her part on The Age of Innocence (1993).
